It’s a mile – a Music Mile - from Studio Bell to the Blues Can on 9th Avenue SE!
The coolest stretch of live music in Calgary connects two of our best-loved and most walkable neighbourhoods, Inglewood and East Village. Here you’ll find a growing energy of talented musicians building community around top-notch, accessible, live entertainment every day and night, year-round, in over 20 live music venues.
Walking this mile-long streetscape and blocks nearby, your senses are amplified as you feel the trendy and soulful vibe of homegrown music venues sprinkled amongst celebrated restaurants, shops, galleries, green spaces and event sites.

About Heather's Playlist
"I've chosen songs that I've checked out online in the last year that make me feel good (and hopefully you too)"
"During the pandemic, as most musicians, I have done some adapting. I have enjoyed performing as part of the Curbside Concerts roster, writing songs and filming them with Rattle and Strum for Kidoodle.tv, working with Rebel 8 Productions to make some professional music videos, and my brand new business venture: Songbelly. Songbelly places personalized songs into the bellies of adorable handmade-in-Canada stuffed animals. You can find out more at http://Songbelly.com."
MAY NEWSLETTER 2021
The Music Mile Newsletter features a different local artist and their favourite playlist every month.
This month we are joined by Heather Blush!
" I am a singer/songwriter who has been recording and performing music for over 20 years. I began my career as a music therapist which brought me to Calgary in 2003, where I have been performing with my band Heather Blush and The Uppercuts ever since. Somewhere along the way, my husband/drummer Steve Hazlett and I also started a children's music duo called Rattle and Strum. Between the two bands we have travelled coast to coast across Canada and released five albums."
